Birthday treats for school

Guess what these are? These Sushi look-a-like is actually sweets. Yuta, Yoji and I made these with rice crispy, gummy and fruit roll up. Hope Yuta's friends will like it.

I'm surprised that you don't have 10000000000000000000 comments considering that this was just Boing Boinged! This is absolutely amazing! I am awestruck by the creativity of your wife! Bravo:)

That's great! I'd love to feature this on my blog. I wonder where you get the faux lacquer boxes?

This is lovely! I remember a friend making fake makizushi some years ago using rice Krispies wrapped around bits of gummy candy, and then chocolate wrapped around the "rice," but this is prettier. :)

OMG Too cool! I might have to try this for my son's birthday next month! He loves sushi and to be able to bring some to school would be too much fun!

Any chances of getting a recipe? The white "rice Krispy" looks too white for the cereal, did you just use puffed rice? What did you use to stick things together? Mizu-ame?

They look great!

They look better than the real deal! (Less expensive too?)

Yes, I'd love the recipe for the ultra-white rice crispy part.
