San Clemente

We finally got to see Jeansie and Jiji because they have been so busy and we were in Japan. They were surprised how big Yoji got. We are ready to head to the beach with Kayla and Jack.

マイクのパパとジンシーは最近いつもに増して仕事が忙しく、2ヶ月ぶり以上にやっと会えました。丁度、いとこのケーラとジャックがマイクのパパの家にお泊まりしていたので、皆でビーチに行く事にしました。

New Buzz ride

I took Yuta and Yoji to Disneyland. It was the Friday before this Labor day weekend but it was not crowded at all. Lucky us! We rode on the new Buzz ride at California adventure. It was so cool!

学校が始まるとなかなか行けないので、久しぶりにディズニーランドへ行ってきました。せっかく年パスを持っていてもあまり行けないし、今日は思う存分付き合うつもりで行きました。南カリフォルニア住人は年パスが1万5千円以下だし、家から車で15分くらいで、なんてラッキなんだろう、、、と、改めて有り難い気持ちになりました。ホームシックになってる場合じゃないね！（苦笑）

Water day

We went to Mariners Church for the summer activity. This church offers such a great kids' program and Yuta and Yoji always enjoys.
近くのこの教会はテーマパークもびっくりの水の出る公園があります。くじらの口の形の滑り台や、海賊船のような遊具などが敷地内にあって、無料でいつでも遊べるのです。やはり日本とは、宗教に対する考え方が違うなあとつくづく思うのですが、人が来てくれる為なら何でもありって言う教会も増えています。なので、ここの教会のサマーキャンプは歌あり、バンドあり、ジャンプハウスあり、、、子供が喜んできたがるように工夫されています。凄いわ〜〜〜！

S'more

We have to have S'more at camp! So yammy!
アメリカではキャンプと言えば、デザートのおきまりは「スモアー」です。キャンプファイアーで軽く焼いたマシュマロを、グラハムクラッカーと板チョコで挟んで食べる定番デザート。スーパーのクッキーやシリアルに「スモアー味」って言うのがあるくらい、誰でも知ってるアメリカの味です。

Camp

We went to O'Neil park for camping with Bun, Karen, Kayla, Jack and Fenway.
マイクのお兄さん一家と一緒に、車で30分くらいの所へキャンプに行きました。

Crazy bubble bath

Yuta, Yoji and I went to visit my best friend's new place in Agoura Hills. With the traffic in LA, it took more than 1 hour and half. But it was sooooo much fun and it's worth driving!
小学校からの親友すみちゃん一家がアリゾナからロスの北に引っ越したので、遊びに行ってきました。ロスあたりは、やっぱり渋滞するので1時間半くらいかかったけど、そのくらいの距離なら遊びに行けるし、とても嬉しいです。子供達は　一緒にバブルバスに入って大喜び。興奮して夜中まで寝ませんでした。

Annual concert

We went to our favorite summer event. Every year Target sponsors a free concert at park. We went there with our friend's family. It's so nice to enjoy Pacific Symphony's music under beautiful stars.

我が家の恒例イベントになっている、コンサートに行ってきました。このコンサートはターゲットというお店（おしゃれなイトウヨウカドウ？）がスポンサーで、市の開催する夏の無料コンサートなのです。オレンジカウンティのプロのオーケストラが星の下で、素敵な音楽を演奏してくれて、それはそれは素敵なひとときなのです。家族向けということもあって、親しみやすい楽曲だし、子供達も動き回って大丈夫なので、気も楽！

Yoji's bath?

Yoji found a spot perfect for him. The water was warmer and he was calling this "bath". How cute!
羊司が岩場にちょうど良い大きさのくぼみを見つけました。海水が浅いので、お風呂のように暖かく、ようじは大喜びでした。

Our favorite beach

We went to our favorite beach with Yuta's friend's family. It's always beautiful and make me realized how lucky I am to have this life.
週末に、祐太の日本語補習校のお友達家族と、我が家のお気に入りビーチに行きました。ここへ来る度に、あまりにも美しいビーチで気持ちがいいので、住んでいる所や毎日の生活に、もっと感謝しなきゃいけないなあと気づかされます。

Cool train ride

We took a cool "non-rail train" and sat in front of the train. So kids got to see great view of Tokyo bay and high sky scrapers. It amazed me how fast the city is growing. Even I go back to Japan once every year, there are something new.

ゆりかもめに乗って、お台場へ行きました。一番前の席に座れたので、眺めがとても良くって子供達も大喜びでした。

Fireworks

One of the high light of the trip was, the Fireworks event in my hometown. I grew up watching this event every summer and I wanted to show it to Yuta and Yoji. Luckily my sister lives in an apartment very close to the fireworks. So she reserved the seats on the rooftop for us. We enjoyed watching 1 hour and half long fireworks. We want to show it to Michael next year.
隅田川の花火大会を妹のマンションの屋上から見ました。お仕事で忙しいのに、祐太と羊司の為に良い場所を取ってくれて、最高の花火鑑賞になりました。祐太と羊司にとっては、初めての隅田川の花火大会でした。私が毎夏見て育った花火大会。子供達と一緒に12年ぶりくらいに見ました。嬉しかった〜。千恵ちゃんありがとう！

Playing at park

Yuta is very fortunate to have good friends in Tokyo too. His friends from kindergarten last year, got together for us. It was very nice seeing them all and Yuta had so much fun, even though it was a super hot day!
去年の体験入学の幼稚園のお友達が、祐太の為に公園に集合してくれました。一年ぶりに会うお友達、皆が祐太に会うのを楽しみにしていてくれて、とても嬉しかったです。私も、ママ友の皆さんと一杯おしゃべり出来て嬉しかったです。

Sleepover

We went to my friend's house for one night and had a sleepover. Kids had so much fun toghether. Thanks to Chi-chan & Mit-chan.
学生時代からのお友達の新居にお泊まりに行きました。子供達もとっても楽しかったみたいで良かったです。ちいちゃん、みっちゃん、ありがとう！

Icy cold but FUN!

While we were in Nikko, Yuta and Yoji played in a creek. This is one of the places my parents took me when I was a kid. It's very nice to share the same memories with my boys.
日光のこの小川は私も子供の頃、連れて来てもらった所で、懐かしかったです。子供達と同じ思い出を共有出来るのはとっても嬉しかったです。

Lift with Oji-chan

We went to Nikko, which is about 3 hours north of Tokyo, for a long weekend. We took a chairlift to the top of the mountain. It was very misty and cool. It was awesome because Tokyo was very hot.
霧降高原へ行って、日光キスゲを見てきました。とっても気持ちいい霧が立ちこめていて、最高でした！まさにマイナスイオンのシャワー！

1st grade

Japanese school ends the semester in mid-July for summer vacation. Yuta went to a local school for 8 days. He is carrying "Ran-d-se-ru" which is the traditional elementary school backpack. All elementary kids use this. Boys choose usually black and girls choose pink or red. Guess who's it is? It used to be Kenichi's (my younger brother). Thank you for keeping it!
8日間だけ、地元の小学校へ体験入学をしました。受け持って頂いた先生がとても素晴らしい先生で、ラッキーでした。幼稚園に体験入学したときのお友達とも同じクラスになれて、楽しい日々になったようです。良い経験をさせてあげられたなあ〜と思いました。ランドセルはなんと、賢一の！取っておいてくれて良かったわ。

Go Yomiuri Giants!

Oji-chan (Grandpa) took us to the Yomiuri Giants game at Tokyo Dome. It was an exciting game to watch. Thank you, Oji-chan.
今年も、おじいちゃんが巨人戦を見に東京ドームに連れて行ってくれました。打撃戦だったので、見ていてとても面白かったです。おじいちゃん、連れて行ってくれてありがとう！

What a smile

When we were in Asakusa, there was a special market around the temple. This plant is called Ho-Zu-Ki.
ほおずき市に行きました。浅草の夏って感じでしょ？

Yuta's All-Star team is over now. The team still has one more big tournament but since we are going to Japan soon, this was his last. Good job, Yuta.
祐太のオールスターチームの野球が終わりました。トーナメントに3つ出て、1位、2位、2位の成績。沢山練習して、ずいぶん上手くなりました。チームはもう一つ大きなトーナメントがありますが、私達は日本へ行くので、これで終わり。お疲れさま〜

U.S. Open

My dad was visiting us during the U.S. Open week. I gave my dad and Michael the tickets as Father's Day gift. They enjoyed so much.
父の日のプレゼントとして、US Openの観戦券をマイクとお父さんにプレゼントしました。私と子供達も1日だけ練習日を見に行きました。コースの美しさとプロゴルファーの「ファンに支えられている」という姿勢に感激しました。

Yuta graduated his kindergarten. It was so much fun! Thanks to great friends and teacher.

Prize

Yuta got 1st place and 4th place in Dolphin Games at his school. There are about 120 kids in his kindergarten and 1st and 4th are pretty good, isn't it?

Memorial Day Tournament

This Memorial Day weekend started with Yuta's All-Star game and ended with the winning of the tournament. What a fun weekend! Boys are lucky to be able to play at such a beautiful field.

戦没者記念日の4連休でした。祐太はオールスターチームに選ばれていて、この週末はトーナメントがありました。4日間、毎日試合がありました。そして、トーナメントで優勝しました。こんな整備の行き届いたフィールドで野球が出来るなんて、子供達は幸せです。

Jiji, Jeansie and Acton came to watch Yuta's game twice! Thank you so much for coming. It was wonderful we could share the winning moment with them.

普段とっても忙しく、滅多に会えないジジ、ジンシーと東海岸から遊びに来ていたジンシーのお父さんの3人が、2回も試合を見に来てくれました。

Yuta's team won the 1st place in the tournament. His team is the only team won against Mexico in this entire tournament. Wow!

このトーナメントは、近郊の市からオールスターチームが参加して、試合が行われました。メキシコからもチームが来ていて、とても強いチームなのですが、そのチームにも勝って、優勝しました。メキシコのチームに勝ったのは、祐太達のチームだけだったそうです。びっくり！

祐太はすっかり一眼レフデジカメで写真を撮るのに、はまっています。今日もいっぱい写真を撮っていました。これもその中の一枚。私は撮らないような、面白い写真が一杯です。

Happy Mother's Day

I am very lucky to have these boys in my life. Because of Yuta and Yoji, I became a mother. I am thankful to be a mother on Mother's Day.

祐太の提案で私のお気に入りのロジャースガーデンへ行きました。母の日の今日は、感謝される喜びにもまして、母になれた事への感謝の気持ちで一杯の一日でした。

Yuta has really great team mates. They are such good kids and they love baseball as much as Yuta. 4 kids in this picture got chosen for the All Star team.

祐太はとても素晴らしいチームメイトに恵まれて、とれもラッキーです。皆、本当に仲が良くって、気が合うようです。この写真の中の4人がオールスターチームに選ばれているので、チームのレベルも良いって事かな？もちろん祐太も、オールスターに選ばれました！やったー！

祐太は写真を撮るのが大好きです。ガーデンへ行っても、何度もカメラを貸してと言われ、重い一眼レフデジカメでパシパシ撮っていました。この写真も祐太が撮りました。良い感じでしょ？

At Sherman garden

Yuta, Yoji and I went to the Sherman Library and Garden in Corona Del Mar with our friends. It was so beautiful.

車で20分くらいの所にあるガーデンへ、お友達とランチをかねて遊びにいってきました。それはそれは、手入れの行き届いた奇麗なガーデンでした。
